Niki's Pecan Nut and Chocolate Fridge Tart

Next time you want to impress your guests give them a "Niki" for dessert. It's guaranteed to get you plenty of compliments. The combination of pecan nuts in the crust and smooth chocolate in the middle is simply irresistible. But be warned: it's not suitable for dieters!

Crust
2 packets (200 g each) chocolate biscuits, finely crushed
60 ml pecan nuts, finely chopped
100 ml melted butter

Filling
250 g mascarpone cheese
1 tin Nestlé Chocolate Treat
3 eggs, separated
5 ml vanilla essence
250 ml Nestlé Dessert cream
125 ml caster sugar

Butter a 24-cm, loose-bottomed cake tin or spray with non-stick spray. Mix the biscuit crumbs, chopped pecan nuts and butter and press to the base and sides of the cake tin. Chill until needed.
Beat the cheese and the Nestlé Treat together, adding the egg yolks and vanilla essence. Beat the Nestlé Dessert cream until stiff and fold in. Beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks, adding the caster sugar a little at a time. Beat until thick and creamy. Add to the chocolate mixture.
Pour into the prepared crust, cover with tinfoil and refrigerate for at least three hours, or until firm.
Remove from the fridge about 30 minutes before serving, cut into slices and serve with chocolate sauce, chocolate curls or ganache. (See hints.)

Hints
* To make ganache: Melt 100 g dark chocolate (broken into blocks) with 100 ml Nestlé Dessert cream until smooth. Allow to cool slightly. Slice the tart and spoon a little ganache over each slice.
